WMEB-TV PBS Orono - United States Television
WMEB-TV is a full service television station in Bangor, Maine, broadcasting on local digital VHF channel 5. Founded in 1963, it is owned by Maine Public Broadcasting Corporation. WMEB is the flagship station for MPBN and a member station of PBS (Public Broadcasting Service). It is operated by the Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN) as one of its affiliates. In addition to its national PBS programming, WMEB airs MPBN produced programs concerning Maine and local public affairs, culture, history and science. WMEB’s channel is multiplexed, with MPBN and PBS programming on 5.1; on 5.2 is MPBN and PBS programming in standard definition, and on 5.3 is MPBN World, with news and information.
