WCIQ is a full service television station in Mount Cheaha, Alabama, broadcasting on local digital VHF channel 7 and virtual channel 7. Founded in 1955, WCIQ is owned by Alabama Educational Television Commission and branded as APT. It is a member station of PBS (Public Broadcasting Service.) In addition to its national PBS programming, WCIQ airs locally produced programs with information concerning Alabama public affairs, culture, history and education. WCIQ’s channel is multiplexed, with APT and PBS programming on 7.1; on 7.2 is APT IQ, the Family Learning Channel, and on 7.3 is APT-Create, with programs about do-it-yourself and travel information.
