WEDN is a full service television station in Norwich, Connecticut, broadcasting on local digital channel 9 and virtual channel 53 . Founded in 1967, it is owned by Connecticut Public Broadcasting, Inc (CPBN) and branded as CPTV. It is a member station of PBS (Public Broadcasting Service.) In addition to its PBS programming, WEDN airs locally produced programs with information concerning local interest, culture, history and education. CPTV also broadcasts the University of Connecticut’s women’s basketball games. WEDN’s channel is multiplexed, with CPBN and PBS programming on 53.1; on 53.2 is CPTV4U, with PBS Encore, and on 53.3 is Create, with programs about do-it-yourself information.
